The secret dreams of dressmakers

Today I worked at AP library, where I discovered we'll be subscribing to Selvedge magazine, which covers a lot of sewing history. I've my eye on this back issue, which covers women's uniforms, land girl outfits, make do and mend and tailoring of ww2.

Plus, the magazine sells stuff. Look at this serious gorgeous set of notions. This is sewing porn. Before you ask, beeswax is used for hand sewn buttonholes and point turners help you get a nicely sharp collar. Sigh. Want. - Posted using BlogPress from my iPad
